Victoria's Secrets

In the 90's, I was not quite sophisticated enough to recognize the intense glamour and staying power of Victoria Beckham. She was my (more fashionable) cousin's favorite Spice Girl, while I was stuck on the sugary sweetness of Baby Spice. Ten years later and I am finally up to speed.

Married to a gorgeous soccer star, impossibly Barbie-like body, fabulous celebrity career- my love feeds off my jealousy and vice versa. After reading an article about her in the March Glamour, I have been toying with the idea of buying her 2007 book, That Extra Half an Inch. I don't know, though, do I want a book written by a Spice Girl in my bookshelf? I feel like I might...

My favorite pieces from the Glamour interview:

Some clueless reader asks if her feet/back hurt from wearing heels...
VB: "Absolutely they hurt. Absolutely! I’m not going to lie. But no pain, no gain, as they say. I don’t mind. I will suffer."
{I hear her accented voice saying these exact words in my head when my shoes are literally cutting my feet in parking lots. Well, that and I picture Jane from Sea of Shoes.}

Her masochistic view on heels makes more sense later...

VB: "And sunglasses always hide a multitude of sins. Sunglasses and a great pair of heels can turn most outfits around." Agreed!

This quote is from an Allure interview in 2008:
“As you can see, I’m a normal-looking girl, and I just make the best of what I have. I’m not out-of-the-ordinary-looking at all – I’m incredibly ordinary.” How cute is that?

& finally, some favorites from the Victoria Beckham 2010 Spring/Summer collection. . .
