As part of striving to collaborate with other bloggers, I asked the lovely and talented Leah of The Way We Are to allow me to interview her for this post. I adore Leah's blog, especially how beautiful she has made her home and the picturesque family life within it. (Seriously, go look. Her daughter is so adorable, and she and her husband take on DIY projects together!)
A: How did you meet your husband?
L: I met Richard five years ago, a month after he got back from Iraq serving in the Oregon National Guard. We met at our church and I totally blew him off, thinking he could seriously not be interested in me at all- LOL. He was stubborn and didn't give up though, and I am so happy he didn't!
Hello, who wouldn't be interested in her?
A: How did you know that Richard was The One?
L: I am not sure if there was a specific moment that I knew he was the one; I think I just always knew. When he had to leave for New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, I told him that I loved him. He was about to leave and we had no idea what was in store for him down there or if there were going to be anymore hurricanes. I had been wanting to tell him, and I couldn't let him go without making sure he knew.
A: Your daughter's name is so lovely. How did you arrive at Evelette?
L: It is so silly and I wish I had a better answer, but we got her name from the movie 10,000 B.C; Evelette was the name of the leading lady. I just thought the name was gorgeous and sounded old-fashioned. I think it is actually a French name.
A: What do you consider your "signature" fragrance?
L: I don't wear fragrance every day, but when I do I love Body by Victoria's Secret.
A: Please share a favorite beauty tip.
L: Dry shampoo! It helps you not have to wash you hair every day and it gives you body! Plus if you're blonde, the powder helps your hair look even blonder. The best stuff I have found is at Sephora.
A: What is the best beauty advice you've been given by your mother?
A: What's are your guilty pleasures?
L: Watching Tori & Dean and chocolate!
A: Who's your favorite celebrity?
L: If I had enough moolah and could imitate one celebrity's style it would definitely by Gwen Stefani. What a cool rocker/glamorous mom! She is the best of both worlds with her glamorous hair and red lips but always edgy. She is always being photographed hanging out with her family and going to playgrounds with her kids. She is really hands on, which is great.
A: What is a quote that you are inspired by?
L: "I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness." ~ Mother Teresa
A: What are your passions?
L: I am passionate for Christ, for those who are hurting, for my family, for life, and for making my house a home.
Thanks so much to Leah for allowing me to share a little about her. Please stop by her blog The Way We Are- you'll be glad you did.
