Even if this is your very first visit to this blog {if it is, welcome!}, you probably have guessed my love for Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, or Jackie O. I even have a handy little book that guides me in living a Jackie-fied existence. The book is rather tongue-in-cheek & just-for-fun, but it also has some fabulous historical information about America's favorite first lady. From time to time, I will post tidbits from the book as a cute feature called "What Would Jackie Do?"
Today's WWJD is on fashion.
Some Jackie favorites include:
*black turtleneck
*black & white
*Chanel jacket
*A-line skirts
*Brooches
*
A quote on Ms. Kennedy Onassis...
"Jackie understood her body and coloring very well. Her clothes were beautifully tailored, from her trousers and tees to her suits and gowns. I think everyone should take an honest assessment of themselves in a three-way mirror, get a good tailor, and remember that it's quality, not quantity, that counts when getting dressed."
-Michael Kors
*
Jackie wasn't afraid to ask another woman "where'd you get that" or to tell a few of her own fashion secrets. Sharing is caring.
*
Jackie knew when to move on from certain trends, which kept her looks from ever becoming passé. How can one tell if a look is over?
Here are some hints:
*if you look like everyone else
*if women stop asking, "where'd you get that?"
*if your mother likes it too much
*
I hope you enjoyed tonight's WWJD, and I want to make a special note to say that the material used during this feature is not exactly original. It can be found in one of my favorite books What Would Jackie Do? by Shelly Branch and Sue Callaway. It is certainly worth buying. The purpose of these posts are to provide inspiration Jackie-style.
