In honor of Valentine's day this weekend {well, it's on Monday, but we're celebrating on Sunday}, I thought I'd share a little story about my first date with Noah. Actually, it wasn't exactly a date...but I do look back on it as the night that our friendship began to turn into something more.
I had just gotten my license & car, so I invited Noah to come see my friend play lacrosse at our high school. We talked and laughed while watching the game and, once it was over, I don't think either of us was ready for me to drop him back off at his house. We took a trip to Coldstone & walked around the parking lot, while we ate our delicious ice cream treats. Then we perused the aisles of Target as most teenagers are wont to do in a boring suburban town. Finally, it was time to take him home, so I drove us back through his neighborhood, windows down, speakers blasting Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me".
We had another date that weekend.
I think about this first "date" every time we go to Coldstone, and it makes me smile oh-so-much.
Here we are eating ice cream treats again this past weekend, almost five years after that amazing night.
Oh, Coldstone. My love for you causes my face to contort in unattractive ways.

the exact opposite of an unattractive face lovey.
