I've been thinking about learning a lot lately. Not learning specifically, but ways to improve my brain, I guess. A couple of my co-workers are starting graduate programs this fall, and I can't help but feel like I should get an advanced degree, too. I know that going back to school isn't a good choice for me, at least not at this time, but I don't want to be "left behind" at work, either.
As stressful and frustrating as college could be, it did force me to broaden my knowledge and skills a little bit each day. I feel that formal education expanded my brain in ways that my work position does not (at least not at this point). I don't necessarily want to learn more about economics, my major, or even business, but I do want to learn.
I'd like to take lessons in the following:
French
I took two years of French in high school and a semester in college, and I always did surprisingly well. My visit to France proved, however, that I need to do a lot more work.
Tennis
This is something that I did my freshman year of high school and, though I was unspeakably awful, I did improve rather quickly. I think tennis is enjoyable, even for people with no skill, like me.
Piano
All of my favorite music features piano and, when I go to concerts, my eyes are naturally pulled toward the pianists fingers on the keys. I think it would bring me immense pleasure to hear music created by my fingertips. I don't have a piano, though, so lessons may be kind of useless.
What do you want to learn?
