Today, Bridgette is moving to New York.
I hugged her goodbye this morning at 4am.
She is fulfilling a dream she's had for years now, and "proud" doesn't begin to describe how I feel about her.
I've watched her, over the past year or so, save her dollars, sell her belongings, and tie up her Arizona loose ends. A lot of logistics go into making a courageous leap in one's life.
I told myself that I wasn't losing a friend, but gaining a Manhattan.
It's still tough to see her go.
She'll be 3,000 miles away, waiting tables, lounging in the park, walking to museums in her chic city wardrobe. & I'll be here, also 3,000 miles away, doing the things that I do. Even so, when we see early morning movies, cute things at Anthropologie, and anything and everything Edward Cullen, I know that we'll think of us and pick up our phones.
