I was a gal about town this weekend.
Friday night, I started the weekend in style at a Mexican restaurant with free chips, salsa, and bean dip. This place is Arriba, and you should never order their chili relleno unless you want your mouth to burn on fire. I checked, and there are only Arribas in AZ, so AZ peeps, beware of this chili relleno. It is delicious, but it will burn you, and you will have to send it back and order a cheese quesadilla like a pansy.
I basically napped Saturday away and then spent the evening watching movies at a friend's place. I caught the second half of Limitless, which was quite good and may be worth renting to see the first half. We also watched Fur. Have you heard of this madness? It came out in 2006 and stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Nicole Kidman. It is...crazy. If you have seen it, what did you think, other than that there was a boatload of nudity?
Sunday was go-go-go for me. I normally do chores and run errands on Sunday, because I am a 67 year-old lady, but today I broke up the routine. I volunteered at the cat shelter for a couple of hours in the early morning (still sounding like an old woman, huh?), and then I met a friend for lunch and another friend for a movie.
We saw One for the Money, and I loved it! It was so fun, and Katherine Heigl was much better in the role than I originally assumed she would be. I have to give her props for pulling off Stephanie Plum while looking like Katherine Heigl. Plus, Debbie Reynolds as Grandma Mazur is comic gold! I am reading the third book in the Stephanie Plum series and, at this point, I'm thinking I'll have to read all 18!
