Mile Fail

So, remember last week when I set a goal to run a mile in under 10 minutes?

That didn't so much happen.

It's not that I didn't try. You should have seen me. Tanktop on, Nikes laced, new workout playlist uploaded. I was ready to go. Are you ready to hear my excuse?

My ear buds wouldn't stay in.

That's right. I only ran for 0.4 miles because my ear buds kept falling out of my freakishly small ears.

Never fear, I placed an Amazon.com order on Monday for some real headphones and not those poor excuses that came with my iPhone.

I'm still determined to run a mile in under 10 minutes. I mean, really, there is no reason I should not be able to. I am not obese, nor do I have asthma, or really any other good reason that I can't do something this simple.

Also, I sort of didn't tell you the whole story earlier. While it's true that I was having ear bud issues, there was something else at play. Like, half a carton of rocky road ice cream eaten twenty minutes before I undertook my goal. Oops.

So, even though I have flimsy excuses and disgusting eating happens, I've decided to declare Sunday Mile Day. Remember in high school when you had to run the mile once a week? I never actually ran, which is probably explains my sloth.

Wish me luck!

  1. I'm with you on the iPod excuses for earbuds. I got some (ugly albeit practical) sony wrap around my ear headphones...and they stay in--bliss. Good luck on your mile--I believe in you :)
